Prabhas has offered fans a glimpse of a markedly different screen avatar with the teaser of Fauzi, unveiled on his birthday on October 23. Instead of presenting him through a conventional action introduction, the teaser builds an espionage narrative around a soldier operating against the British during the pre-Independence period.
Directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, the film places Prabhas in the role of a fictional Indian spy, soldier and strategist associated with Subhas Chandra Bose’s Azad Hind Fauj. The teaser’s historical backdrop and military intrigue suggest an attempt to combine patriotic drama with large-scale action.
The project had originally been expected to arrive in December 2026, but its release has been postponed. The makers have announced March 19, 2027, as the new release date.
The challenge now is to translate the teaser’s scale and promise into a compelling film. For Prabhas, whose recent projects have carried enormous expectations, Fauzi offers an opportunity to explore a new historical-action setting.
