Bus Ducts
A bus duct is a metal enclosure that supports and contains a group of electrical bus bars — conductive strips of copper or aluminium that carry power within switchboards, distribution boards and substations.
The cross-section of a bus bar determines the maximum current it can safely carry. Bus ducts are supplied in standard lengths, and their big advantage is that a branch circuit can be added or removed without shutting off power to the entire duct.
We supply sandwich and air-insulated bus ducts for transformer-to-panel connections and rising mains in multi-storey buildings.
Key Features
- Copper or aluminium bus bars
- Sandwich & air-insulated designs
- Plug-in tap-off for branch circuits
- Transformer-to-PCC connections
- Rising mains for high-rises
- Compact versus large cable runs
