Srikakulam police arrested two men in connection with the killing of 42-year-old Simma Mohan Rao following an altercation at a fast-food centre near Oppangi village.
According to the police account, Mohan Rao had asked one of the accused, who was speaking loudly on his phone, to lower his voice or move outside. The exchange reportedly escalated into a confrontation.
Investigators alleged that the accused and a relative later intercepted Mohan Rao while he was returning home and killed him. The arrests followed a complaint lodged by the victim’s wife.
The investigation seeks to establish the precise sequence of events and the individual roles of those accused in the crime.
